VALUES

AUTHENTICITY

Disconnection from our authentic self leads to suffering, disease, and illness. It is through becoming our authentic selves that we can live truly free.

COMPASSION

Modeling and teaching compassion for self and others allows the development of safe connections and reflection without judgment or condemnation.

CONNECTION

We are relational beings. Safe, nonjudgmental connection with another person presents the opportunity for self-regulation, exploration, and learning. Nobody is born with self-regulation, that is something learned from another human being.

CULTURAL HUMILITY AND INCLUSION

Every person comes from a different lived experience, despite similarities, that we can learn from and appreciate. To truly understand a person, we must exercise humility. To contribute to a safer society, we must include all and learn from all. We are all in this together.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Those of us who have the capacity to contribute to a better society have a responsibility to share. Through our words and actions, we model a better way of existing.

TRUST

Trust is a necessary element for growth. Without trust, we remain in a defense that keeps us disconnected from ourselves and others, leading to increase stress and the downward spiral of our mental and physical health.

We can live by these values when we achieve safety, regulation, learn to listen, and meet needs.

Safety: being and feeling safe

Regulation: having power over the self

Listen to the body: our body talks to us through the mind-body connection

Nonjudgment: recognizing limitations Authentic self/living: living the values that reflect the true self.
